Advocacy and Leadership

Standing Up For Families Propelling Safety In Our Schools

As founder of the Hold Schools Accountable (HSA) Parent Network, I have helped families across Ontario navigate some of the most difficult situations, when their child has been bullied, physically harmed, or their concerns have been ignored. Through HSA, I’ve helped give parents a stronger voice and push for the accountability and transparency they deserve.

I have taken this work directly to decisionmakers presenting a deputation at Region of Peel Council and, in April 2026, to the provincial government at Queen’s Park, calling for urgent action from all levels of leadership.

I have propelled an unprecedented conversation about the harm in our schools, giving educators and administrators the confidence to come forward and reach out directly.

Through HSA, many have come forward as whistleblowers, confirming what families have been saying and exposing what’s really happening inside our schools across Ontario.

What my investigations have uncovered is deeply concerning: repeated classroom evacuations due to violence, serious incidents including sexual assault, weapons, older students recording younger kids in the bathroom, and systemic failures to follow mandated policies under the Education Act.

This is not isolated. Peel schools are among the highest in Ontario for reported violence and across the province, more than 80% of publicly funded school boards have failed to provide clear reporting mechanisms for parents, despite being legally obligated to do so.

This is a devastating failure especially when over 70% of youth aged 12–17 report experiencing bullying in the past year, and nearly three out of four students say they do not feel supported by teachers when it happens. (Source: Children First Canada)

Thousands of families have signed my petition calling for changes to the Education Act and real accountability—because student safety must come first.

Caring for Our Seniors

Leading real action on senior safety with a first-of-its-kind community event

Protecting seniors in our community starts with connection, awareness, and support. Too often, they feel isolated, and we need to change that by ensuring they have the information and confidence to stay safe and feel empowered.

Fraud is the number one crime targeting older Canadians.

That is why I created and hosted a series of first of their kind events in North America, rallying community stakeholders including Peel Crime Stoppers and our city’s first responders to deliver practical, tangible information in an engaging and interactive format.

These sessions were designed specifically for seniors, offering clear and empowering guidance on what matters most including telephone and cyber fraud, scams, personal and home safety, fall prevention, outdoor safety, elder abuse, and more.

Highly acclaimed, this was more than awareness, this work is about connection bringing seniors together with the people, resources, and emergency services that help keep them safe.

I am committed to ensuring seniors in our community are informed, protected, and able to live with confidence every day.

On The Ground With You

Community Action Matters

Supporting organizations that make a real difference for families across Mississauga has always been important to me.

From helping support events like the Breakfast with Santa fundraiser, to taking part in the Coldest Night of the Year, I’ve always believed in showing up and being part of the solution.

I’ve seen firsthand the impact of organizations like Eden Food for Change, which helps provide food security to more than 1,200 families each month.

I’ve also had the privilege of serving as a former Board Director and now Honorary Governor with Lymphoma Canada and have been proud to help organizations like Kids Help Phone, Peel Crime Stoppers, Ronald McDonald House, and others.

These are the places families turn to during some of their hardest moments. Being involved in this work has reinforced something simple but powerful when people come together, we can make a real difference in each other’s lives.

Protecting Our Green Spaces

I believe that when we take care of nature, it takes care of us

Caring for our environment starts right here at home and it’s something I’ve been committed to for years.

From organizing Earth Day cleanups to bringing people together around protecting our shared spaces, I believe local action matters.

I’ve long been committed to protecting Mississauga’s five major watersheds an essential lifeline for our environment and our future. The Credit River and surrounding watershed are especially important, and we’re already seeing the impacts of a changing climate through more intense storms and increased flood risk in our communities.

I’m proud to have been recognized by Credit Valley Conservation with the Environmental Awareness Award for this work.

I’ve also used my platform to shine a light on these issues. Through my podcast The Big Blue Marble, I’ve shared conversations and stories that explore our changing planet and the importance of protecting it.

Because protecting our environment isn’t just about today, it’s about making sure our communities remain strong, safe, and resilient for the future.
